Data protection and privacy
The PALA committee stores an electronic copy of the information which you give on your subscription form. This may be stored on systems at the various academic institutions where the PALA committee members are based.
Your email address is added to the PALA-announce mailing list, on which official announcements are made occasionally by the committee. You can unsubscribe from this list automatically by sending an email to pala-announce-unsubscribe at maillist.ox.ac.uk, or by emailing webmaster at pala.ac.uk.
A list of current members may also be shared with the following:
- Sage, the publisher of Language and Literature, so that they can send you the journal;
- the organiser of PALA events, such as the annual conference, in order to authenticate reduced rates for members;
- publishers, such as Rodopi for the PALA Papers series, and other vendors in order to authenticate reduced rates for members.
PALA may also sell a printed copy of address labels to academic publishers and others who are promoting products, events or services which we believe will be of interest to members. No electronic copies of address details will be shared with any third parties for the purposes of bulk mailing.
