The 2012 PALA Student Summer School will take place in Middelburg from the 13th to the 17th August 2012. The themes, guest instructors, fees, etc. are to be arranged, and will be announced here.
Middelburg School of Rhetoric 2012
The Middelburg School of Rhetoric, the first annual PALA Student Summer School, took place from the 15th to the 19th August 2011 at the Roosevelt Academy in Middelburg, the Netherlands. The themes for this event were Narrative, Stylistics and Emotion, and guest lecturers included Professor Paul Simpson (Queen's University, Belfast), Professor Michael Toolan (University of Birmingham) and Emeritus Professor Peter Verdonk (University of Amsterdam). The event is organised by the Chair of PALA, Dr. Michael Burke (Roosevelt Academy).
The School will take place each year in Middelburg. Please note that only 25 places are available and these will be allocated on a "first paid, first served" basis. The fees for the summer school were limited to just 300 euros per person in 2011.
